DOWN’S SYNDROME –MONGOL CHILD-TRISOMY
21 |
Caused due to abnormal number of
chromosomes called TRISOMY 21, there is an extra chromosome
that brings about abnormalities listed below.
Abnormalities are:-
This is how they are born:- Flat face, large
flat nose, hypotonia of muscles, epicanthic folds (extra folds
uder eyelids), large protruding lower lip, short and broad
hands, simian crease on the hands, upward and slanted palpable
fissure, high arched palate, hypoplasi of middle phalanx;
may have cardiac malformations.
This is what they can develop as complications:-
1) Varying degree of mental retardation 2) Cardiac problems
3) Leukemia 4) psoriasis
This is to what extent they can be helped:-This
is a genetic abnormality and cannot be cured. But surely Hompoepathic
trearment can help these children to overcome the handicap
and be to as near normal as possible. Earlier the age of starting
the treatment better the results achieved.
Again we need to reiterate homoeopathy treats Man in disease
and not disease in man. This means the genetic make-up of
the patient is taken into consideration to strengthen the
immunity. This has an added advantage. The patients immunity
does not get impaired easily and therefore the Mongol child
does not develop complications easily.
Results obtained by treating about 53 such children
constitutionally are:
a) Mental retardation have been minimized.
In fact some children whose treatment was started as early
as the third month, have become intelligent enough to go to
normal school and compete with normal children with 55 to
65 percent marks.
b) None of the children developed psoriasis. One child who
was brought to the clinic with psoriasis was completely cured
of psoriasis with no recurrence for last 13 years.
c) No child developed any cardiac complications nor leukemia.
d) One child brought to us as diagnosed case of leukemia,
did not survive.
e) These children under homoeopathic treatment seem to have
faster development and faster milestones.
f) Three children’s parents reported surprising facial
changes bringing them near to normalcy.
g) A few of the Mongol children are attending normal school.
Treatment advised is long
term. Although no cure is ever possible, in GENETIC abberation
the minimum devopment of complications and reduction in the
mental retardation makes us strongly advocate constitutional
treatment to these children.
